We don’t want you believing stories that uneducated people make up on the Internet. On the contrary, we want you to understand the facts about vaping so that you can fully enjoy the experience without worrying about negative information you read that probably isn’t true.

At this point, we’d like to discuss four of the biggest vaping myths permeating the Internet. For those who fear vaping for one reason or another, pay close attention to the information that we share with you today. It’s eye-opening and insightful to say the least.

4 Vaping Myths Debunked

  • There’s antifreeze in e-liquids – this scary myth is so far from true that it’s not even funny. E-liquid contains propylene glycol. This ingredient is used in antifreeze. Somehow, the geniuses that created this myth decided to scare the crap out of people by telling them that there is antifreeze in e-liquid, but the truth is that there is only one ingredient and nothing more. Oddly enough, they put propylene glycol in antifreeze in case somebody accidentally swallows it. The ingredient is there to minimize the damaging effects.
  • Vaping contains formaldehyde – the New England Journal of Medicine published a “study” that claimed that people inhale formaldehyde while vaping. It was later proven that the study was botched by the researchers. During the study, the researchers used machinery to simulate vaping. Their main problem was that they simulated vaping at temperatures that were too high. These dry temperatures caused dry hot conditions. Since the machines in the study did not simulate actual vaping conditions, it is concluded that the study is invalid to say the least.
  • Nicotine can cause cancer – vaping certainly contains nicotine. Nobody is in denial of that fact. But many people like to use nicotine as a scare tactic to try to convince others to quit smoking and vaping. They want the world to believe that nicotine is a carcinogen, but facts are facts, and nicotine is not and never will be a carcinogen. Multiple independent studies, as well as studies performed by government agencies, have determined that there is no link between cancer and nicotine. There are certainly hundreds and even thousands of chemicals in cigarettes that do cause cancer. Nicotine doesn’t happen to be one of them. It’s about as harmful to your body as caffeine is.
  • E-cigs are a gateway drug for teen tobacco use – people are and should be validly concerned that teens might become interested in tobacco after being introduced to vaping. According to the CDC, although high school students have gained a greater interest in electronic cigarettes, there is no proof that teen cigarette smoking rates have increased because of this new interest.
