Various Emoticons

There has been a lot of news and development with emojis in the last month.

Last month, 250 new emojis were added to the Unicode 7.0 standard, which are the standards for text to be used across different software platforms, like smartphones.

So what does this mean for texting addicts? They have more emojis at their disposal and can use even less words to communicate if they want to. However they will have to wait a while before they can use them.

Some of the new emojis include a bouquet of flowers, a thermometer, film frames, admission tickets, an old personal computer, a file cabinet and even a levitating businessman. The Unicode 7.0 standard have also expanded their offerings to multiple languages and currency symbols, which would be handy for tourists, those living overseas and exchange students.

New television show emojis have also emerged in the last couple of weeks, mainly Seinfeld and Game of Thrones emojis.

The range of Seinfeld emojis include the four main characters and recurring characters like the Soup Nazi and other iconic items of the series like Junior Mints, the pez dispenser, the cashmere sweater with a red dot and pretzels. These emojis will be available through its own app.The Game of Thrones emojis similarly include the main characters ranging from Arya Stark to Tyrion Lannister and Jon Snow, as well as iconic items of the series like the Direwolves, Dragon Eggs and the Iron Throne.

Both the Seinfeld and Game of Thrones emojis are cool and will definitely be popular, however like the 250 new emojis, they are not available yet either.

You can find pictures of the Seinfeld emojis here and the Game of Thrones emojis here.
